Abstract

Research work in genetic characterization of Ambrosia sp. in the area of Ravni Srem, using molecular methods has been initiated. For genetic analysis plant material were collected from three populations, each represented by three genotypes. Five SSR markers for the loci Amb12, Amb15, Amb16, Amb30 and Amb82 were used. Results indicated that it is possible to apply the SSR markers originally designed for North American species of Ambrosia artemisiifolia on our material. The existence of high diversity in populations of Ambrosia sp. was revealed in the area of Ravni Srem.
