Abstract

In 2008, PE "Vojvodinašume" received a FSC certificate (SGS-FM/COC-005064) for sustainable forest management according to the individual forest management model, the only such in the wider region, by SGS Qualifor, which definitly confirms that the management and use of forests is in accordance with strict international standards. By acquiring the FSC certificate, the Company was able to offer a full range of forest timber products from certified forests and in the same time providing numerous useful forest functions. After receiving the certificate, the auditors have carried out, during the regular certification process each year, the control of the current state of the forest management system in the Company. During the inspection of the documentation and field visits, all necessary activities were carried out to check the current implementation of the FSC principles and criteria, as well as to correct certain inconsistencies in the work from the previous periods. On this occasion PE "Vojvodinašume" showed that deserves the highest grade in all segments of work. As required by the rules, every five years are carried out a complete assessment of the business operations, so in the past period, in particular 2013 and 2018, two new recertification cycles of PE "Vojvodinašume" started. By analyzing the inconsistencies in work which arise from corrective action requests and observations by SGS in the past two certification periods, in the first certification period (2007-2012), the number of corrective action requests amounted 1 major, 22 minor and 13 observations, while in the second resertification period (2013- 2017), the number of corrective action requests was reduced on 15 minor and 3 observations.
