Abstract

The objective of this work was the examination of chemical composition and wood density of pedunculate oak (Quercus robur) wood from forestry of Ravni Srem. Wood samples obtained from stems of different site types, aged from 94 to 157 years. Results of examination of chemical composition (cellulose, extractives and lignin contents) were statistically significant between stems. Wood density (basic and oven dry) were from 500 to 662 kg/m3 (basic), and from 573 do 770 kg/m3 (oven dry), and there were significant differences between stems according to site type.
