Abstract

The degrees of lead, cadmium, zinc and nickel loads in humus-accumulation horizon were researched in four systematic units of the soil of different physico-chemical properties. The textural composition of humus-accumulation horizons ranged in the interval from sandy loam to loam. The greatest difference was found in the content of humus which ranged from 1.82 to 6.36%. On the study sites, the load of lead and cadmium was low to medium. In the humus- accumulation horizon the load of zinc and nickel was high to very high. The exchangeable, reducing and oxidising fractions of lead, cadmium and zinc were analysed. The highest percentage of the reducing fraction of lead was measured in the layer 0 - 10 cm in humofluvisol and two forms of fluvisol. The lowest differences in exchangeable, reducing and oxidising fractions of heavy metals were found in cadmium. The content of the reducing fraction of zinc, 24.16 mg kg-1, was found in the layer 10 - 20 cm in sandy fluvisol, and the lowest content, 13.55 mg kg-1, was found in loamy fluvisol at the depth of 0 - 10 cm. The content of the reducing fraction of nickel ranged from 7.53 to 20.48 mg kg-1.
