Forest fires cause major damage to the forest areas. This paper analyzes the preventive measures that attempt to prevent the emergence and spread of forest fires. In order to reduce the possibility of the spread of forest fires are presented in the biological and technical measures to protect against fire. The results indicate that the biological measures of prevention and risk assessment of areas in the Republic of Serbia it is necessary to develop innovative technical programs in the future tense will be the mainstay for the protection of forest fires.
